Many golfers often ignore this detail when playing. Around the Green, there are many different terrains, so golfers need to determine the position of the ball when making chips to avoid the situation that the ball does not go as expected and it is difficult to control the force.

The reverse grass in the area around the Green is quite a difficult area to perform an effective flag chipping. In many situations, the golfer cannot bring the ball up, the ball still stops in place because the contact force is not strong enough.

So to perform Chipping in the reverse grass area, it is necessary to note what to be able to handle the above situation well.

1. Determine where the ball lies:

2. Change the state of the clubhead:

When performing reverse grass chipping, there are 2 ways to handle the state of the clubhead.

Use the clubhead to make chipping: The clubhead is more pointed to the ground, the heel will be higher, so the club will stand up more than usual. The rounded toe of the club makes it easy to penetrate reverse grass for better ball control
Using the “bounce” part of the club:
When setting up, we position the "bounce" part of the club so that it is in more contact with the grass than usual to help the club slide through the reverse grass more easily. This causes the clubface to open more and makes the ball go higher. Many golfers when setting up, the clubface opens a little and the bottom edge of the clubface touches the grass before making contact with the ball, causing the club to get stuck in the reverse grass area and the ball does not fly up really well.
